An artistic expression of the Earth's core - the innermost geologic layer of our planet. The radius of this ball of primarily iron-nickel alloy is 1.220 km, which is about 20% of the Earth's radius. The temperature of its surface layer is estimated to be approximately 5.430 °C, which is about the same as the temerature at the surface of the Sun.
