The planetarium show 'Tis The Season is one of the richest-sounding of all Loch Ness Productions show offerings to date, and this album certainly has a wide variety of instruments and musical styles. Some tracks may vary from the familiar Geodesium space music style, so be sure to check out the audio clips below to get a feel for this album!

GEODESIUM Anasazi Space Music...from the Dawn of the Second Millennium
Released in December 1993, this album contains two half-hour impressionistic "suites" of music with a Southwestern flavor. The "Anasazi" suite prominently features sampled sounds of flutes, drums and voices in addition to the synthesizers. The "Aztec" suite intermingles guitars and pan flutes with wind chimes, percussion, voices and harp. The music should appeal to those who enjoy 'world music' and even 'Native' music, in addition to the electronic-instrumental music and New Age devotee. This album has also been featured on the radio shows "Musical Starstreams", "Echoes", and on many public and college stations around the world.

GEODESIUM Double Eclipse

Double Eclipse, the second GEODESIUM album, was produced in 1981. NASA used some of the selections during its TV coverage of the Voyager Encounters at Saturn and Uranus. It consists of nine electronically-realized musical compositions. Of the five original works, one is a clever bouncy tune featuring two electronic "dancers" and a synthesizer rock drummer. Two space-music-style pieces musically explore the inter-galactic reaches. Another work is a driving and intense rocker, and one is the world's first electronic-disco-bluegrass combination -- a real toe-tapper! There are four transcriptions: J. S. Bach and Johannes Pachelbel for the classical music enthusiast, and two contemporary works by Wilke Renwick and W. Francis McBeth.
Until 1999, the album was available only as a vinyl LP. But we've remastered it, and for those GEODESIUM fans desiring a complete collection, we will record a custom compact disc. Plus, we've added a bonus track not on the original album, a 6-minute piece called Lightspell. First recorded as entrance music for the 1980 version of the planetarium show "Light Years From Andromeda," only a couple dozen copies were distributed, so it's a rarity!

It has also been featured on "Music From The Hearts Of Space" and "Musical Starstreams", and has sold thousands of copies throughout the U.S. at Natural Wonders stores.

GEODESIUM
GEODESIUM, the eponymous first album, consists of electronic music recorded at Fiske Planetarium from 1975 to 1977. At the request of many pleased planetarium patrons who had inquired about obtaining the music they had heard in the shows, Mark put together an album of the most popular selections. He used only two instruments on the album: the EMS Synthi AKS (a suitcase-sized synthesizer with a painted-on capacitance-sensing strip for keys) and a Mellotron, so the music is quite analog and 70s-sounding.
The original vinyl LP and its first reprint were sold out by 1980. But in 1999, we remastered it, and for those GEODESIUM fans desiring a complete collection, we will record a custom compact disc. Plus, there's now a bonus track not included on the original album, a 9-1/2 minute "orchestration" of a Mozart work, 12 Variations on the theme 'Ah, vous dirai-je, Maman' -- the tune we know today as "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star." Only a couple dozen copies were distributed to planetaria as entrance music, so it's a rarity!
